The Red Hook International Film Festival in Red Hook Brooklyn, honored us with a Spirit Award. The festival programmers explained that our film “was highly regarded by the festival and the audience, and addressed some of the core issues that our 2009 festival was dedicated to.” Very nice indeed.

We are proud to have our  short doc Lessons From a Tailor screening at this year’s Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival. The film will screen with other shorts @ 10am on Saturday Sept 26th. Sidewalk has been hailed as One of TIME Magazine’s FILM FESTIVALS FOR THE REST OF US and a BEST KEPT SECRET by MovieMaker magazine.

Our short film about the NYC Ballet’s costume shop titled Recreating a Tutu’s Splendor, was screened this Spring at the opening gala. The NY Times called it “just the trip backstage theatergoers love”. We are currently working on another short documentary about the critical importance of pointe shoes in the life of a dancer.

We are VERY pleased that our short doc, Lessons From a Tailor, will be screening as part of the Rooftop Films Summer Series. The film will be in the New York Non-Fiction program. Details below:

Testing the Doggicam Systems Bodymount for our upcoming dance film project for the New York City Ballet company.

An accidental “behind-the-scenes” video for our upcoming short doc commissioned by the New York City Ballet. Summertime Films will be doing a series of videos about different aspects of the inner world of the ballet. The first piece will focus on the Costume Shop as they work to recreate a special Tutu designed by the great costume designer Barbara Karinska.

Our short doc Lessons From a Tailor, directed by Galen Summer, will be screening as part of the Nashville Film Festival @6pm on Monday April 20th. The film will open for Adam Resurrected, starring Jeff Goldblum as a “…cabaret impresario, circus owner, magician, musician…” who survives the holocaust by becoming the commandant’s dog and then goes crazy and then at some point later in a mental institution he thinks he is a dog!!?
